Earthwork & Excavation

Bulk excavation, site grading, cut-and-fill, and overburden removal — with our own fleet of excavators, loaders, and tippers.

Service Overview

Digging, Grading, and Hauling

Earthwork is straightforward in concept — dig here, move it there, level this, compact that. What makes a difference is having enough machines on site and knowing how to sequence the work so trucks aren't waiting for the excavator and the excavator isn't waiting for trucks. We own our JCB backhoe loaders, hydraulic excavators, bulldozers, and tipper fleet, so we control the pace.

Our work ranges from foundation trenches for building projects to large-scale overburden removal at mining sites. The ₹11.5 Crore NTPC Talipalli Coal Mining project in Jharkhand — currently underway — is our biggest single contract. That involves stripping overburden, maintaining haul roads, and keeping the site graded so the mining operation doesn't stall during monsoon.

For construction projects, we do cut-and-fill for road embankments, bulk excavation for basements and foundations, land levelling for industrial sites, and backfilling with compaction to specified density. Every fill layer gets tested — Proctor density checks, not just rolling and hoping.

Why Own Fleet Matters

When you hire earthwork machines by the day, you pay whether they're digging or sitting idle waiting for trucks. We own 33+ machines — excavators, loaders, bulldozers, tippers — so we control the cycle. No waiting, no excuses. That's how we run the ₹11.5 Cr NTPC mining job without daily stoppages.

Our Fleet

Our Machines

JCB Backhoe Loader

Digs trenches, loads tippers, and handles loose material — the workhorse on most sites

Hydraulic Excavator

For deep cuts, hard strata, and high-volume excavation where a backhoe won't keep up

Tipper Trucks

Hauls excavated earth, overburden, and fill material between cut and fill areas

Bulldozer

Pushes fill into place, does rough grading, and clears vegetation and debris

Our Process

How We Execute Earthwork

1

Site Survey & Soil Testing

Topographic survey to establish existing levels, soil classification to know what we're digging through, and volume calculations so we can plan the cut-fill balance and truck trips.

2

Equipment Mobilization

We match the machine fleet to the job — a foundation trench doesn't need the same setup as a mining site. Machines are transported from our nearest active project or depot.

3

Excavation & Earth Moving

Excavation to marked cut lines and levels. Usable material is stockpiled separately from waste — good earth for backfill later, unsuitable material hauled to disposal. No mixing the two.

4

Grading & Levelling

Fine grading to design levels with motor grader or excavator bucket, depending on the required tolerance. Building platforms and road formations get checked with survey instruments before the next trade moves in.

5

Compaction

Fill placed in 200-300mm layers, each compacted with vibratory roller or plate compactor. Proctor density tests taken at specified intervals — typically 95% of MDD for general fill, higher for structural areas.

6

Quality Verification

Final level survey, compaction test reports compiled, and as-built sections prepared. This documentation goes to the client and the next contractor before they start their work on top of ours.

NTPC Talipalli Coal Mining

Overburden removal, haul road construction and upkeep, and site grading at NTPC's Talipalli coal mine in Jharkhand. This is a continuous operation — machines run daily, and haul roads need constant maintenance to keep the coal moving, especially during and after monsoon.
